Privacy

The short version

Home Ops is software you run on your own machines. The phone app talks only to your own Home Ops hub, at the address you enroll it with. We, the makers of Home Ops, never receive your data: there are no accounts with us, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

The phone app

When you enroll a phone with your Home Ops hub, the app sends the following to that hub only, over an encrypted connection:

The app receives your hub's alerts as notifications. Vault secrets you choose to show appear in a window that can't be screenshotted and are never stored on the phone. Nothing is shared with us or with anyone else, and nothing is sold.

Permissions: network access (to reach your hub), notifications (alerts), running in the background and starting when the phone starts (so it keeps reporting and alerting), and, if you use Drive, access to the files you pick.

Your Home Ops hub

Your hub stores what it collects (machine health, logs, your notes, files and encrypted vault entries) on your own machines. You control it entirely: who can sign in, how long data is kept, and where backups go.

This website

homeops.software uses no cookies and no analytics. It's served by Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the service. The live demos run entirely in your browser on made-up data.

Deleting your data

Everything the app sends lives on your own hub. To remove a phone, remove it in Home Ops (Agents) or uninstall the app; to remove a person, an admin removes them in Setup → People. Uninstalling the app deletes everything it kept on the phone.
